Your Pain Won't Be Wasted: Finding Purpose Through Grief
Grief Is an Invitation to Live: What Losing My Grandmothers Taught Me
What if grief wasn't something we needed to fix, rush through, or be afraid of?
What if it could actually open our hearts to living more fully?
Today is an incredibly personal episode of the Wildly Wealthy Woman Podcast.
Just hours before recording, my beautiful 96-year-old grandmother passed away. This is the second grandmother I've lost in just a few months, and I've been reflecting deeply on love, loss, family, and what it really means to live a beautiful life.
My grandparents were married for 78 and a half years. My grandfather is 100 years old, and witnessing the love they've shared has given me an entirely new appreciation for the kind of legacy we leave behind.
In this episode, I'm sharing my personal perspective on grief, how tapping has helped me navigate loss, and why I believe our pain doesn't have to be wasted.
We're talking about:
-
Why grief isn't something we need to fix or rush through.
-
How grief and gratitude can exist at the exact same time.
-
What 78½ years of marriage has taught me about love.
-
The changing of the guard in our families and what it means to become a matriarch.
-
How to honour the generations before us while deciding what we want to carry forward.
-
Why I'm choosing to care more about living than failing.
-
How tapping and parts-of-self work can help us make room for all our emotions.
-
Why a broken heart can also be an open heart.
One of the greatest lessons grief has taught me is that life is happening right now.
We don't have to wait until everything is perfect to experience joy, pursue our dreams, love deeply, or appreciate the beautiful things happening around us.
You can cry in the morning and laugh with your daughter in the afternoon.
You can miss someone terribly and still feel excited about your future.
You can be grieving and grateful.
One emotion doesn't invalidate the other.
And maybe one of the greatest ways we can honour the people we've lost is to really, really live while we're here.
An affirmation to take with you:
I give myself permission to feel it all. I don't have to rush my grief. I can honour the people I've lost by how I choose to live.
